About Us: Cohn Appraisal Service has been in business for over 12 years. Our goal is to provide high quality appraisals in a timely manner. We are Associate Menbers of The Appraisal Institute, and belong to ICAP, The Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals. The current slowdown in the real estate market has provided ample evidence of the importance of working with professionals, who employ "appraisal common sense". High quality appraising requires a careful approach in the field, and the ability to use all of the capabilities available in the "appraiser's tool box." We strive to answer our client's questions before they are asked. This requires that we ask the right questions first, and pursue honest and thorough solutions.

Our Coverage: Cohn Appraisal serves DeKalb County and adjacent portions of LaSalle, Lee, Ogle, Boone & Kane counties. All DeKalb County towns are served, as well as Paw Paw, Rochelle, Belvidere, Hampshire, Burlington, Maple Park and Elburn.
Our Community: DeKalb County is at the far western edge of the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The county is largely exurban, consisting of several growing towns and large farm areas. DeKalb and Sycamore, once separated by farms, are now connected by a thriving retail and commercial corridor. Many new subdivisions have been built since 1990. DeKalb is the home of thriving Northern Illinois University, a growing campus with approximately 25,000 students. NIU offers a wide range of programs, and is heavily tied in to metropolitan Chicago.
